Reflections from Clerkenwell Design Week

There is always a certain energy around Clerkenwell during design week. The streets become busier, conversations happen everywhere and the city briefly feels completely centred around creativity, ideas and shared enthusiasm for design.

But once the installations are dismantled and the crowds disappear, what remains are the conversations, the connections and the moments that genuinely resonated.

This year gave us the opportunity to present a carefully curated mix of brands, materials and ideas that reflect the direction we believe the industry is moving towards thoughtful design, honest materials, craftsmanship and products with longevity. Rather than focusing purely on launches or trends, the week became more about dialogue; how people want spaces to feel, how lighting shapes experience and how design brands can create something more meaningful in a world increasingly dominated by fast consumption.

At the centre of the presentation were MINALE and zeitgeist.limited two brands that share a commitment to materiality, atmosphere and timeless design, whilst expressing it in very different ways.

MINALE, led by designer Massimo Buster Minale, brought a sculptural and architectural approach to lighting and objects. The collection balances strong geometric forms with warmth and usability, creating pieces that feel both expressive and refined.

Alongside this, zeitgeist.limited presented a more atmospheric and handcrafted perspective through its contemporary glass and wood pieces. The brand’s focus on texture and the emotional quality encouraging people to slow down and engage more closely with the materials and details. The response reinforced how important authenticity and craftsmanship remain within contemporary interiors.

Throughout the week we welcomed architects, interior designers, developers, retailers, collaborators and friends into the space. Some arrived with specific projects in mind, others simply wanted to discover something new. Both were equally valuable. The most rewarding part of the week was seeing genuine curiosity and engagement around the brands and stories behind the products.

For us, Clerkenwell Design Week was not simply about exhibiting products. It was an opportunity to strengthen relationships, begin new ones and continue building a network of people who share similar values around design, creativity and collaboration.

A sincere thank you to everyone who visited, supported, collaborated or simply took the time to have a conversation during the week. We appreciate every interaction and look forward to continuing many of those discussions in the months ahead.

The show may be over, but the ideas and momentum continue.
